((Damn your fingers, Gil! Razz ))

"Wait...we dun be given a whole heap o' money, to help topple a weakin' guvernment like Timiro?"

Darryn smiles crookedly.

"Well, what can I say..."

"I aim...to misbehave."

(EDIT: Yeah, I'm gonna have to read up on the PF world a little bit, before I can come up with any "Masterplan's"... Embarassed )

"Plans within plans, El. Speak with me later of this idea." Auntie seems pleased at your initiative. She's life a wolf let off the leash, she's actually licking her lips. (ie, pm it).

"Some of us have deeper desires. Gnome, we'll speak on this soon." Unrestricted devouring certainly appeals to Snow. The game in this city had long since grown tame.

The Danzi, looks into the blackness of the passage for a long time.

For a moment he even appears as if he will speak...

But the moment passes, and instead he again cracks that oddly formed smile while shaking his head softly.

Without a sound he returns to the main room, and finds a comfortable seat in the shadows.

"Seems ye gun be needing mah services. Money is no object anymore. Hell I might as well learn everything I can... by force."

Willis chuckled... its been a long time since he was under the impression of free-reign to do what he pleased.

"The mind is a prison... and I plan to unhinge it!" The look of perverted dominance flushed Willis' eyes.

((Sorry for the delay - have friends of the family in town for my eldest's 6th b-day party, which is today and tomorrow. Don't ask...))

Jaq realizes if might be considered suicide to try to glean any information from the Emperor's mind directly, but is quite intrigued at the thought that this action could allow for any number of Changeling agents to come to power (by duplicating others that might become popular in the wake of such upheaval).

And it doesn't sound as if the money's bad, either...

It's all good, I definitely wanted to at least give you some time to react, so I didn't mind the brief wait. Plus, it gives everyone else time to plot (or get their hands on a copy of Old Ones).

Once the general chaos has stilled, Madame Auntie steps forward and takes center stage. "This plan will be neither simple nor without cost. If we do it right, most of us will get out alive, however. Saim, you'll be leaving within the next two days. Pack lightly, you'll be on the road quite a bit. It's time for you to return to the pits and arenas of your youth. You'll be on a tour of the Timiro Kingdom. And don't worry about your glossy coat, the fights will be arranged for your benefit. Get to know the other gladiators, start making contacts in that world. A good bit of them will be useless fluff, but others should provide you access to underground movements that are already in place. Focus especially on the slave races. Darryn, you'll be acting as his promoter for this stage of the plot. Make contacts with the idle nobles as you two work the towns. Dump enough gold down their throats to make them want you at all of their little get togethers. We'll be assigning a few of the ladies to keep you both from straying with the local talent. Remember, they're more attentive than most of you, so use them well in the field, Darryn."

She nods at the younger gnome, who hands Saim a handful of sealed scrolls. "Given the company you'll be keeping, a chest or two of gold will not last you long. These notes will help you secure funds as you travel the kingdom."

"Snow, you'll be traveling with Darryn. From you, I simply need a body count. Only work in the larger cities, and keep your schedule random, so that your murders don't coincide with the arrival or departure of Siam and Darryn. And, of course, don't get caught."

"Harv, Eldrith, you'll be traveling together." She pauses to allow for the chuckles to ripple through the room. "You'll be leaving within the week. Eldrith, the necromancer depopulation is going to create a bit of chaos, as all their property and servants are dispersed amongst surviving relatives, or more likely turned over to the locals powers." Necromancers often seemed to have no family, a disturbing trend for the dark mages. "I want you to visit the smaller cities and larger towns, securing as much excess slave stock as you can. Four of the ladies will be going with you. Keep them available to the local lords at all times. I want their eyes elsewhere than on the ledgers of the slavers."

With a nod from Auntie, the little gnome hands Eldrith a well aged map and a small leather bound book that's in tatters. "Word will eventually spread, no matter how hard we try, of an elf purchasing a large number of slaves. If anyone puts you to a serious question, these are your cover. Documents passed down your family line for generations, indicting a small family manor in the Old Kingdom that was buried by Elementals during the Elf-Dwarf war. Now that you've earned your fortune, you're gathering a work force to help excavate the grounds. To that end, Kore and the field teams will be at work in the Old Kingdom. He'll send agents into Timiro to collect your slaves from time to time. Send those who are fit for hard labor. You know what to do with the rest."

With a slight sigh, she turns towards Harv. "Now Harv, Ogres are common slave stock in the Timiro Kingdom. I need you to control that temper of yours, when dealing with the humans. Eldrith is going to be sticking his neck out quite far, and I need someone there who can kill anything that tries to kill him. If you can't handle that, I'll send someone else, but then you'll be spending the next few years in the mountains with Kore, sleeping on the dirt, far, far away from any decent city. Can you keep yourself under control?" Of course, Auntie would be sending a mountain of drugs, plus Eldrith's own special artifacts, to keep the Berserker in line. It never paid to be too cautious with Harv.

"Francois, you and Abe have the nastiest job for the first stage of the plot. You'll be leaving in ten days. West of the capital is a large town called Basst. Basst is the central institute for magical learning in all of Timiro. There are literally thousands of students there, either of a philosophical bent or of a magical persuasion. I need that city burned to the ground, with as much of the population as possible to burn with it. The destruction of Basst will herald our advancing to the second stage of the plot."

"And that leaves Jaq and Willis. You'll both be accompanying me to Credia itself. We'll be leaving tonight. I'll be setting up shop in Credia, and I'll be needing you both to worm your way into the social circles of the nobility. While ours will be the most comfortable job, for now, understand that Credia is the end game. It is imperative that we pry every secret that there is to be found in that city. We'll need them all to turn the nobility against itself, and to turn the commoners against the nobles."

"No. It's a kingdom whose slave population is equal to, if not greater than, it's free population. Arming the beasts is an obvious tactic. Your plan, however, results in far too much mass death. Ours is a more focused goal."

"Manipulation... I am good at that."

Willis didn't care about the reward... he got far too much enjoyment out of making peoples brains bleed answers and lies through their speech, this was rewarding enough.

((best part about it... is if I absolutely need to... I can just mentally beat the SHIT out of them, and then once I get my answer, erase the memory of my assault and things will go on like nothing happened. And worse comes to worse... just mind bond the info out of them though thats dangerous))

As Darryn's mind races, a snippet of an old song slips into his memory...

Yeah, I was once a golden boy like you
I was summoned to the halls of power in the heavenly court
And I dined with the deities who looked upon me with favor
For my talents; my creativity.

A slow, hungry smile spreads across his face. In many ways, he shares Willis' excitement at the proposition the Emperor had laid before them, though he's more than willing to enjoy the money, as well...

"Ahs, see, I'll a-have to be working on da accent. Men o' wealth an' power, don't be a-talking like dis..."

((Which should make Marrow extraordinarily happy! Razz ))

"But don't worry about me and yer girls, Auntie..."

Darryn decidely does not look at someone, as a crooked grin spreads across his face.

"...my heart, dun a'ready be taken."

A heartbeat goes by, to let the statement sink in, but before anyone can comment (most especially, Snow), "So, Auntie, we a-traveling by carriage, ship, or circle? Anyplace y'all recommend, we make our first stop?"

Need to remember to clarify this with Harv latter; he still might not get it...

"Auntie, looking at what I know of the plan, I think there's a flaw, where it dovetails with mine: namely, that once a slave uprising starts, there will be an invasion. The beasts of the border are ready for it, and only awaiting an opportunity. Unless there are substantial garrisons manned by abolitionists who will stay on the border despite their nation being torn to shreds from within, it won't take long... perhaps half a year... for them to enter en masse."
