Will set it up later today; I'm probably going to do some general forum tinkering once I'm home from the gym. |

Well, Marrow's going to be putting this up on the board tomorrow, so I wanted to give everyone a first crack...
Star Wars d20 PbP: A "What If...?" scenario, in which the Droid Armies won the Clone Wars, set in the OT time period (i.e. 20 years after the Clone Wars). New characters recommended, and I can build if unfamiliar to the system.
TSR Marvel Superheroes - Days of Future Extant PbP: An amalgamation of the last "What If...?" (Secret Wars, 25 years later) and "Days of Future Past". New characters recommended, and I can build if unfamiliar to the system. |

Star Wars is starting off at 4th.
MSH is "not Cosmic level". My intent is starting player levels, but I may up power levels if they're too low (after all, you potentially have to fight Sentinel's) |

I've got just about all the Star Wars d20 books, so I'm down for that....now that the sick bastard Marrow has gotten me back into RPG's with this board. |

anyone up for a Shadowrun game in the vein of The Warriors (low-point pink mohawk (re: ganger) game)?
It would be in the new 4th edition rules and null perspiration if you don't have the books or no how to make characters, I've got plenty of characters already made for the game, or if you are comfortable with the rules you can make your own, just with a few caveats to better fit the concept I have for the game.
Which is kind of a Secrets of Nim, meets The Warriors. _________________ So's Your Face! |

I was in a ganger game, years ago, that wound up sputtering and dying, but spun off a series of vignettes about my character and his life as a low-level yak.
I'm up for it. May have to steal a SR4 book, because I can't stand not having one. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

If I want I could crash your system from here, hit you with the blackest ice this side of Fast Jacks fire sale, null perspiration, and in the end you'd be left alone holding your hoop like it was any other saturday night chummer. _________________ So's Your Face! |

Take a long jander off a short pier, hoop-face. Your drek smells worse than a dead devil rat, and your face looks like the south end of a north-bound troll. If you think you can step up to me, you're slottin' the bad BTL... drek that makes snuff look like a walk in the park. Shoot some MAO before I have to feed you your piece of drek, decade old, commlink. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

I have never once read a Shadowrun book...but constant playing of the SNES game and a ridiculously large collection of Cyberpunk 2020 books have resulted in me pretty much understanding that entire exchange.
I will now shoot myself. |

Really, Alejandro, go to your FLGS and dig up some 1st and 2nd edition sourcebooks for Shadowrun. While the systems were way too crunchy for me (liking what I'm reading in 4th, however), the sourcebooks for those two editions were a pleasure to read. The Shadowtalk (except for Paranormal Animals of Europe) added a great dimension to the books, making them a glimpse into the world, instead of just a recitation of them. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

agreed, I used to love the Street Samurai handbook for all the matrixspeak.
4th is pretty night and day different from previous editions, but still retains a crunchyness that IMO is mandatory for the game, but still runs a lot smoother and is more forgiving to the player without becoming fluffy. Guns come out and can become morgue meat pretty quick.

I don't have 4th Edition, but I do have 3rd (which was a vast improvement of the previous editions). What has changed? |

I have the "No" edition, so I'll pretend I'm Cyber in the SW game. |

the largest changes are the mechanics themselves and character generation.
gone is the priority system and is replaceced by a point system, I think you can make better characters from it, but it is still as crunchy as Shadowrun has ever been.
the system is no longer a TN based one, but a success based, meaning instead of needing a 7 to crack the black ice at Mitsuhama, it might now be 3 success, TN is always 5, 6 on a #d6. They also took out dodge pools completely and because you no longer have to figure out TN's, soaking and dealing damage have been changed. All in all I feel it keeps the "feel" of shadowrun, while streamlining it a little bit.
Again, not having a book isn't a problem, the system is easy enough, plus I'll be handling all the mechanical aspects of it anyways. I've got about 10 gangers premade for the game, so plenty of options to choose from. _________________ So's Your Face! |

If a person were to play a shaman, do they have to speak in a future slang rasta style, or can they change it up with a more future slang cajun style? _________________ Alright, so I fucked her. What of it? -- Dr. Venture |
