Sonya calls the police to investigate. She does not enter her apartment. |

The 911 operator indicates that officers are en route, and offers to stay on the line with you. Where are you positioning yourself? |

Sonya will be in the parking lot waiting.
She will wait for the cops to clear the apartment and then if they say it's all clear she will go inside to have a look around for herself. She probably would not stay for long, and probably just go camping. |

Before the cops arrive, a head peaks out from the open door. He quickly pulls his head back in once he sees you, however. What little you saw was a white skinned head, with short cropped blond hair and a pair of reflective shades. |

"The police are en route. They can be here at any minute. What are you doing in my apartment?" she says from outside the door, ready to run for her life. |

Sonya is about 20 feet away from her door. |

At that range, there is no response from within, but you can definitely hear the sounds of furniture being tossed about (or perhaps broken?) |

A couple of minutes later, and a black n white pulls into the neighborhood, with the officers quickly jumping out of their car. Unless you hide from them, they will come up to you and ask if you are ok, and what the situation is. |

Sonya is not hiding from the police. She explains that when she arrived home her door was open and that she believes that she might have been buglarised. She explains she wants to make sure the perpetrator is no longer in her apartment at this time so she can then report any missing items once she has a moment to take proper inventory. She adds, "for all I know he could still be in there," not entirely trusting herself to have actually seen what she thought she had seen. Before the police proceed she takes note of names and badge numbers as well as the numbers on the police cars. |

They both head inside, the white cop flanking the hispanic cop. For a while you're able to hear them clearing each room, but before you've run out of rooms that stops. And after four minutes, there's still no sign or sound of either cop. |

Sonya curses in her native language and heads to the police station on her bike. When she arrives she will recount the whole story. She also calls the police station on her way. If somebody will talk to her she will recount the whole story on the phone, too.
She came home. Door was open. She heard stuff. She called police. The police never came out of the apartment. She was afraid something bad was happening in the apartment and went straight away to the station. |

The Desk Sergeant listened to your tale of woe, though once you're finished he sends your world spinning. "Rogers and Diaz? They checked in a while ago, must've happened while you were riding your bike. So it was your place that was broken into? Sorry to hear that."
The station is oddly slow. Or at least it seems odd to you. Police stations should be hotbeds of activity, but there's hardly a soul within sight. |

Assuming those where the names she noted when they arrived, she says, "Yes, that's them. They checked out my apartment. The door was open when I arrived home. May I see their police report, please?" |

"Normally I'd say if you feel like sitting around for a shift or two, until they get back from patrol and turn it in. But since you're now a material witness to an ongoing investigation, no, you can't do that." |

((ok, basically, reports like that won't come in until after the officers have completed their shift unless the place is decently computerized and they've got some really strict Commanding Officers. Depending on what they found inside, there really may not be much to the report at all, and depending on what they suspect of you, you're not going to see much of anything about it. That's the short version -- the super short version is you're not gonna get that kind of info from a police station)) |
