Crais hands over one of the Ion Grenades to Kalen, "This will even the odds." With that he takes his throw (or he'll roll it if they are close enough) around the corner from his protected area.

Quickly he pulls up his Blaster Rifle, and from a kneeled and a covered position, he lets loose with focused Blaster energy at the biggest droid (if or a non-droid if present). He whispers to himself, "The republic shall stand!"

((OOC: Not sure if you wanted us to Roll Dice or not...

((sorry I've been gone for the weekend, my keyboard is still fried at home and I haven't been able to replace it yet, should be remedied shortly though))

Kalen nods an affirmative to Crais, pops the grenade and backhand tosses it into the largest clump of droids. Moments after the ion grenade does its business, Kalen bursts from cover Heavy Blaster in hand as he makes one strafing shot on the run while heading for any cover on the opposite side of the turbolift.
((any droid target will do, Surge if I need the extra movement to get to cover))

The set of ion grenades discharge, and Crais downs another Super Battle Droid as he takes a position behind cover of the bulkhead, as the lights in the corridor flicker intermittently, and the harsh red glow of emergency lights engages. Kalen runs across the corridor, blasting apart one of the still smoking Super Battle Droids, as he takes cover behind the bulkhead on the other side of the corridor opposite Crais.

Tas sprints out and around, heading towards the side Kalen was on, having felt his presence in the Force and believing him to be the one Master Daemos instructed him to watch. Upon reaching adequate cover he draws his blaster pistol and nods to the trooper.

"How many do you count still operational, soldier?"

While waiting for the reply Tas closes his eyes to get an account of tenacity of the ship's troop compliment fighting the droids on the opposite side and an approximate number of the remaining defenders

Once again your mind brushes against the well of darkness, finding two strong flickers of light further back in the corridor (the scant few blaster bolts you saw returning fire), and one burns with bright determinination, though an additional third light begins to flicker at his side...

Further up the ship, the bright light has rallied four more to it's cause, and is moving at a quick steady pace to your location.

As the lights of the ship struggle to re-engage, the pop-hiss of a blown fuse sounds through the hallway, which begins to slowly fill the chaotic hallway with concealing smoke. Super Battle Droid blaster fire continues to fire down the hall, but nowhere near the steady barrage of earlier, and the sounds of metal-on-metal now prove the invaders moving away from the heroes.

Tas also hears above the din of battle (and Tas alone), a throaty voice in Basic give orders, "Keep these fools here. I will finish our mission in Engineering...", followed by the sound of quickly retreating footfalls...

((OOC: Engineering is further back in the ship, which you and Kalen have already ran across the open fire zone towards; Crais needs to brave the corridor, if he's to join you.)

"We need to get to Engineering," Crais tells the others. "If that room is destroyed before everyone can get to escape pods, we will all be dead." He begins to open fire, to provide his own cover. "Cover me!" he yells, as he lunges across the hall.

Tas opens his eyes and holsters his blaster pistol and instead pulls his lightsaber

"They are headed to Engineering and intend to finish this ship. One of them is a sentient, not a droid, and appears to command them. We are moving to intercept them and we must get to them before they can reach Engineering or a firefight will prove as disastrous as any sabotage."

Tas looks over at the technical trooper and makes frantic hand gestures for him to approach as Kalen lays down suppression fire

Crais manages to cross the hallway, narrowly avoiding random fire by the Super Battle Droids still maintaining a baraage down the corridor. The obscuring smoke proves a boon to him, as much as it makes any return fire from Kalen seemingly ineffective.

Crais makes it to the other side, slamming into the bulkhead after his run. Blasterfire from further up the corridor starts streaming steadly down the corridor, and Kalen see's the Mandalorian further up the hall give him a thumb's up, as he starts to cover the hallway again.

The team moves quickly at this point, hustling to the Engineering section. Crais knows (and the others can probably reason it out), that the corridor curves into the port Engineering section, and their quarry likely entered into the starboard engineering section. Auxilary Controls are in the center section, and likely any saboteurs destination.

You know you're quarry has precious seconds of a headstart on you, as you seen the door leading into Controls ahead of you...

Kalen surges towards the doors, again putting the years of countless drills and training to use as he seeks to muscle the doors open.

giving a clear path of travel for his other two compatriots.

Crais follows Kalen's lead and sweeps the room with the blaster rifle at the ready. His honed military skills showing, as to not be caught by a hidden attacker.

((If the room is clear, he'll yell all clear. If not, he'll start blasting away at anything not part of the Republic))

Kalen suddenly moves forward with startling speed, arriving first at the heavy doors that lead into Controls. As Crais and Tas catch up with him, in a herculean effort (nat 20!), he manages to pry the armored doors apart.

The lights inside the room flicker on and off, the soft glow of the emergency red chemical lights already warming up. Tas & Crais both see a large figure in a form-fitting combat jumpsuit ahead of them, a glowing red blade held tightly in both hands, it's steady thrum eclipsed by the churning ship's engines. His head is shaved bald, ritualistic tattoos around his narrowed eyes.

"Ahhh, guests." he purrs.

(Crais, from your vantage point, you can also see a similar female figure closer to the main control panel. The still warm glow of a partially cut chair tells you she has disposed of the operator...)

"Jedi's" Crais mumbles under his breath. He brings up his Blaster Rifle and fires at the woman. Getting her away from the controls is his priority.

((If the natural roll plus bonus is between 20-24, I will utilize a Force Point to boost it up.))

Kalen slaps out his off-hand blaster, still finishing forcing the heavy doors apart, and fires off a single blast at the nearby Sith. The Force is with young Kalen, as his opponent attempts to put his lightsaber betweeen the blaster bolt and his body, and fails. The armor of his jumpsuit saves him from a mortal blow, but ugle scoring can be seen on his left shoulder, and blood begins to seep from under his armor. His left arm drops, though the right still tightly holds the glowing red beam in your direction.

"Tango!", screams the female Sith, as she launches into a somersault flip toward the group. As she is mid-air, you all feel a pull on the Force, put it's all wrong, even for a dark-sider.

It's neither the flow from a mighty river that light-siders use, or the pulsing rapids that dark-siders push out, but rather as if someone dunked a bucket in the river, and threw it upon you. It is a decidely unnatural sensation.

All of this you take in, in a preternatural second, as suddenly waves of Telekinetic Energy wash over the group, knocking you each off of your feet (and take 21 points of damage each).

You also watch in horror, as you see what you originally took for ritualistic tattoos proves instead to be black vericose veins, as the woman's body is wracked with them, slowly spreading, in the aftermath of her explosive use of the Force.

"Zulu, no! You'll burn out!" warns the male Sith, obviously refering to his angered female companion.

Tas looks quickly between the wounded sabre wielder and the closest abomination after scrambling back to his feet going over any semblance of recognition from that recent dark side attack with any lesson he had been taught previously. Failing to think of anything, he simply points at the strange female

"That's our priority target. Engage and destroy!"

Seeing the wounded Force user still has his blade drawn Tas draws deeply on the Force and attempts to forcibly yank the blade from his hands (Force Disarm)

(Ok, we may have our first House Rule. Technically, for Force Disarm to work, it needs to beat the opponents Reflex Save by 10. Which Al narrowly missed, due to Tango's armor. Which makes no sense.

So we may be changing it from "Reflex Defense+10" to "touch Reflex Defense+10", which means the Armor bonus goes away.)

Tas reaches out with the Force, remembering the lessons of Master Daemos, and a mighty river of Force power rips the ruby blade from the male Sith. The blade flies across the room to Tas's outstretched hand, deactivating as it finishes it's flight.

The now weaponless Sith sneers at the Jedi, and once again, the unnatural pull on the Force is felt, as he gestures at one of the computer control banks, and throws it at the open doorway. All of you manage to avoid being hit by the flying and sparking computer bank, but it does provide an obstruction to you entering the room. With that, he moves and crouches behind the central control post, taking cover from any fire.

"Zulu, we're running out of options! The Droids are nearly destroyed! Finish this!"

If she hears him, she does not seem to show it, as Crais and Kalen start shooting her. While she proves successful at deflecting Kalen's shot, Crais' initial shot hits her, though it too deflects off her armor.

"Tango, my pet, it looks like we're not getting out of this one..."

With that, she leaps onto the obstructing computer bank, slashing at the Jedi. But Tas has the advantage, and manages to lock her saber between his own lightsaber & his recent aquisition.

now with both blasters out and primed, Kalen whips both towards the looming sith-ette, though instead of squeezing the triggers, he instead lashes out with a foot, which is more for show than use as a wave of power surges through him throwing the console and hopefully the sith riding upon it against the far corner of the room.
