The Novastar

<The scene pans down to a Confederate Destroyer limping into the underside space dock of Kwenn Space Station, one of the few large Confederate spacedocks located in the Outer Rim. The Destroyer has obvious battle damage, and as it pulls in a small section suddenly erupts in flame, flinging droid bodies out into the cold void, never to be recovered. The scene resolves into the command deck, atop the wounded craft.>

A young Confederate officer approaches an intimidating figured garbed in ornate black armor. The young man walks quickly, a fierce show of bravado while facing the dark figure.

"Lord Ryo, Space Fortress Kwenn has us on tractors. We're are being pulled in for immediate repairs."

A voice, soft, silibant, and deadly issues from the armor, "Have we located another vessel, to continue the pursuit?"

"We have put the call out my Lord, but with our forces spread out trying to locate the Blockade Runner earlier, it isn't poss..."

The young officer trailed away, as Lord Ryo merely shifted his stance, and the terrified young man felt his eyes, upon him.

"I want results, Lieutenant, not excuses. I'm holding you personally responsible to find me a ship. I will not let the Jedi escape with those plans!"

"Aye, m'lord!", the officer saluted crisply, and hurried away. A squad of Battle Droids brought forth a Twi'lek, throwing him down on his knees in front of Lord Ryo.

"This is the Pirate captured during the fight, Commander."

Ryo did not even waste time looking at him, "Execute him."

"No! Wait! I have information!", the Twi'lek cried, as the droids prepared to fire.

Ryo raised his hand, forestalling the droids. "And that is..."

"Tallon. I know where Adar Tallon is..."

Lord Ryo tilted his head, "Adar Tallon is dead. He died during the Clone Wars."

The Twi'lek smiles nervously, licking his lips, "No, he faked his death, and went into hiding to escape the Confederacy. But I know where he is..."

"Statement: Master, you seem particularly ill at ease today. Is it about our secret meeting?", asked the ancient protocol droid "Niner".

Telis shot the droid a look, but fortunately, they were the only ones this far down on Space Station Kwenn's loading docks. Telis had gotten the secret Rebel code asking for a meeting, some kind of data drop from the confirmation code, but he still wasn't happy about risking his cover as a mechanic on Kwenn. The last few hours had especially put him on edge, as something just felt distinctly wrong...

"Consolation: Do not worry Master, we are already here. This is Changing Room 9021. The airlocks for the outer repair mandibles are still several corridors away. I'm sure nothing could go wro..."

Niner's commentary drops off, as he opens the door into Changing Room 9021, and there's a spacesuited body crumpled on the floor, a pool of blood underneath the woman's head.

"Statement: I have a bad feeling about this, Master."

Telis rushes into the room and over to the body of the woman, trying to see if she's still alive or if there is any basic medical assistance she can get for her, "Niner, find me a med-kit right away!"

Unfortunately, the young woman has been dead far too long.

Her skin is cool and clamy, drained of any vitality. You find a small, tri-pointed dart is lodged in her throat, and the blood ran out of a gash in her head taken when she fell to the floor. The collar of a Confederate Officer's uniform can be seen sticking up through the seal of her spacesuit.

"Statement: I'm afraid she's beyond the powers of science to save Master. Though, perhaps I could find someone who's interested in that sort of...oh, what's this?"

Niner bends awkwardly down, picking up a datapad that had been under a bench seat.

"Observation: This machine has been tampered with. The datacard has been pulled." Niner pushes a few buttons. "But they were not very thorough. The data is still displayed on the main viewer..."

Signing in sadness Telis gently puts the body back down, making sure to slip the dart into one of the pockets before taking the datapad from Niner, "Let's take a look at this, but it might be best to do this elsewhere before we have to explain the body we just found."

With that Telis leads Niner out of the Changing Room, making sure not to leave any trails with his lower body in the pool of blood.

Telis almost exits into the corridor, but quickly pulls back into the room, after spying down the corridor a squad of Battle Droids moving towards him. Luckily, listening through the open door, it doesn't sound like they saw him, and they're still somewhat distant, but down the corridor that leads further into the station. The other direction leads to the airlock and repair umbilicles...

Telis might be able to sneak into the umbilicles, hoping to come out at another station, or quickly slip on a spacesuit and go EVA, if he and Niner want to avoid contact with the Battle Droids...

Cursing faintly under his breath Telis does a quick scan of the room, knowing there shouldn't be access to a garbage compactor, but there might be an airduct just big enough for him and his droid to slip into.

Telis finishes sealing the hatch, and begins following Niner further back as he heads back into the station using the tube.

He's beginning to think they made a clean getaway, when he hears the sounds of the hatch being opened, "I'm telling you, when the light's blinking on the hatch, that means someone's in the Tube!"

"Roger, roger."

Cursing quietly under his breath Telis looks to see if he can at least temporarily jam the hatch as he urges Niner to head down the tube, hoping they will find a fork or T soon so they can get out of sight.

Telis moves quickly, firing up his fusion torch and slices across the hatch's control board, destroying the relatively fragile circuit boards. The hatch "chunks" into it's Fail-Safe mode, locking the hatch down to ensure atmosphere could not be lost in a power failure.

Telis scrambles to catch up to Niner, who is already several hatches down, trying to open into another room further down the hall. The cramped, hands-and-knees crawling is slow going, and Niner doesn't want to be in the cramped tunnel when the droids get through the hatch...

Telis hears the sound of metal-on-metal as the droids beat on the closed hatch, but he hears one, "Stand back! Now, blast it!"

"Move Niner!"

As Niner moves out of the way Telis quickly unlocks the hatch from the inside and pulls the droid with him into the room, hoping to make it out before the explosion goes off.

Telis makes it to the hatch, just as Niner succeeds in convincing it to release the seals. Unfortunately, a trio of blaster bolts blast the hatch further back into pieces. As Telis and Niner scramble into the room further down the hall, a droid's voice is easily heard...

"They're escaping further down the hall! Cut them off!"

Telis can hear the sound of metal feet running for the corridor.

As he looks again to the tube, he sees Niner turning away from it, "Observation: I am afraid there are droids heading this way, as well, Master."

Grabbing one of the tool belts Telis hurries to the door to see if he can temporarily disable the opening mechanism to give himself a little time.

Telis, quickly moves to the main door, inserting a probe from his datapad into the door controls, and uploads a Logic Bomb into the simple computer that controls the door, freezing it up. It'll take a purge and re-boot to get it working properly again.

Telis feels a pinpricking on his neck, just as he hears "Exclamation: Oh, goodness!", followed by the sound of a blaster bolt, and the sharp smell of ozone.

Spinning around, he's surprised to see the melted remains of a battle droid at the Jefferies tube opening.

"Declarative Statement: It would appear his weapon malfunctioned in some disasterous fashion Master. Yes. Malfunctioned." piped up Niner.

Telis whips out his lightsaber, igniting the glowing blade. It cuts quickly through the ceiling above, and with a quick flick of his wrist, a roughly man-sized hole is cut into the deck above.

The cut section plummets to the deck, and as Telis notices another droid has climbed over it's fallen companion within the Tube, laid upon it's side and is aiming a blaster directly at him, "Halt, rebel! You will surrender to us, in the name of the Confederacy!"
