Telis nods his head to Niner, "Niner, get out of here now!" With that said he quickly rushes the droid, trying to take it out before it can shoot or get more of it's friends into the room.

Niner looks up at the hole, as Telis slithers swiftly by, "Query: How am I supposed to ascend, Master? I do not have rocket boosters..."

Telis closes the distance, but a blaster bolt leaps out at him! He tries to deflect it with his lightsaber, but realizes he will not get the weapon in front of him in time. Telis manages to squeeze his body down to avoid the worst of the blast, but he still emerges bruised and burnt (11 points of damage).

Telis flicks his wrist out, the lightsaber humming as it traces a tight circle in on the prone Battle Droid. Telis moves to the side, as a small poof of an explosion blows several small bits of the of the droids' remains into the room, as the unattached legs remain in the Tube, and the Blaster Carbine clanks as it falls to the floor.

Telis gives a quick look down the jefferies tube to see how many more droids may be coming before turning back to Niner to help get the droid out of here.

Telis quickly pokes his head into the tube, but is unable to see much beyond the one droid who nearly suceeds in hitting him with a blaster bolt.

"Statement: I believe the droids outside have given up on the door controller, Master, and instead have gegun just blasting the door..."

"Affirmation: I would like to see tomorrow, Master. Could you please help me escape?"

Deciding that discretion is most definitely the better part of valor and lead to his continued breathing Telis hurries over to Niner and tries to help lift the droid up, using the force to aid him in getting him out of the room sooner. “Hurry, hurry, hurry that's all we seem to do these days..."

Using the Force, Telis effortlessly levitates the man-sized droid up through the hole he had just recently cut into the ceiling, and then he channels the Force into his own body, springing up into the darkened warehouse a level above the changing rooms below. Telis can hear the sounds of blaster fire hitting the door down below, and knows even the heavy door will not last forever...

"Assertion: We are fortunate they have not yet signaled an alarm on the system..."

Red lights begin flashing, and a warning siren begins blaring over multiple loudspeakers.

"Statement: I spoke too soon, it appears, eh Master?"

Telis sighs and shakes his head, "The universe herself just waits for foolish beings to make claims like that Niner, it's her favorite way to amuse herself."

Looking around the room quickly Telis leads Niner to the door, saber ready as he opens it and peers outside, but keeping it hidden for now to keep from drawing attention to himself as he attempts to get out of this part of the station via the fastest backroute he can remember.

The Force smiles on Telis, as he quickly looks into the corridor, and all he sees is a couple of station mechnics in garb similar to his own, looking around in surprised, if somewhat bored, interest at the alert klaxon.

Niner quietly remarks, "Statement: I do not believe the door below will last much longer, Master.

Telis nods his head, "I agree, let's get as far away from here as we can." With that he leads Niner away from here and into the general area where his quarters are, but without going straight there for now.

Telis & Niner start to make their way to the Habitat level, but notice that the common areas are becoming progressively less crowded, and more droid squads are beginning to patrol the station.

At this rate, Telis does not think he and the droid will be able to make it up to the Habitat level from Dockside, where he's currently hiding from a passing Super Battle Droid patrol...

((It's possible, but access tubes like the Jefferies Tube are more prevalent on the lower Engineering decks, than the Hab area.))

((There's also no guarentee, that by now the Tubes aren't being monitored/patroled as well...))

((Damn you and your logic taking away my easy answers!!!!))

In that case Telis will pull Niner with him to a quiet out of the way spot for now where they can avoid patrols and wait for things to quiet down.

Telis manages to find a loading dock that is does not seem currently in use, and hunkers down with the recovered datapad and dart.

Telis looks first at the dart, a single piece that clovers out, a fairly rudimentary dart, save in addition to the blood, some remnants of another substance can be seen on it. Telis racks his brain, trying to see if he can place it, and is about to put it away, when Niner says, "Recognition: Malakite poison dart. Very simple, but very deadly."

Malakite is a word Telis recognizes; they're infamous assassins & poisoners, sought galaxy-wide for their talents. They're also not cheap...

Niner however returns to looking out for approaching droids, as Telis gets to the datapad. It's a pretty dry standard Confederate report, till a holo-segment reveals itself:
Quote:
A squad of Battle Droids brought forth a Twi'lek, throwing him down on his knees in front of an intimidating figured garbed in ornate black armor, on what appears to be the command bridge of a Confederate ship.

"This is the Pirate captured during the fight, Commander."

Ryo did not even waste time looking at him, "Execute him."

"No! Wait! I have information!", the Twi'lek cried, as the droids prepared to fire.

Ryo raised his hand, forestalling the droids. "And that is..."

"Tallon. I know where Adar Tallon is..."

Lord Ryo tilted his head, "Adar Tallon is dead. He died during the Clone Wars."

The Twi'lek smiles nervously, licking his lips, "No, he faked his death, and went into hiding to escape the Confederacy. But I know where he is..."

The armored figure tilts his head, "And that would be...?"

The Twi'lek's smile falters, "Tatooine. He married some local girl, and settled down on Tatooine."

The armored figure folds his arm, silently staring at the blubbering Twi'lek in front of him. Several agonizing seconds go by, before a quiet "Fascinating.", issues from the armored figure.

"Lieutenant, prepare a capture bounty to be delivered at once. Our ship is incapable of making haste to Tatooine, and I do not want Tallon to have the luxury of escape."

"Very good, m'lord! And what should I do with this...thing?" the Lieutenant asks, motioning to the prostrate Twi'lek.

The armored figure once again looks at the prone figure, "I may have use for him yet..."

Tallon is another name that Telis instantly recognizes: Adar Tallon, the strategist who is single-handedly credited for developing the starfighter tactics that allowed the massively outnumbered Republic forces fight the Confederate starfighters on even ground. A lot of Republic pilots owe him their lives, thanks to Adar Tallon. His manuevers and tactics constantly baffled the slow to respond droids, oftentimes turning what should have been overwhelming defeat, into stunning victory for the Republic.

If only the Republic had more men like Tallon, the war might have ended differently.

If he was alive, and could be persuaded to join the Rebellion...

Looking up at the bulkhead Telis curses softly under his breath talking to himself and the Force, "So this is how it's to be, pushing me out from under my safe rock?"

With that Telis turns to Niner, "Niner we need to find a station manifest and see who's docked here recently and who can get us off of here to one of the more sad planets that make up this galaxy."

"Query: Are we going to Coruscant, Master?"

His tone is unchanged, but you have the definite feel that Niner just told a joke.

"Assertation: If you would like to learn the destination of craft docked at the station, a query of the loading dock computer near the door would likely suffice to someone of your, ahem, more dubious skills. Master."

Telis gives Niner a look, then shakes his head mumbling under his breath about droids with delusions of humor and heads to the dock computer to see what he can find.

You find there are actually two easily identifiable ways of getting to Tatooine: The passenger liner The Kuari Princess will be making a short stop, offering it's passengers an opportunity to see a binary system with a (barely) habitable planet in it. An older freighter is also slated to deliver a small cargo of binary vaporators to the desert planet.

A third, quicker, and yet much more dangerous possibility, would be to see if he could find a smuggler that would take him with haste to Tatooine.

(But of course there is. Wink )

Telis manages to find his way to one of the few establishments NOT closing down during the Confed alert, the Dockside Cantina known as the ThrusterBurn. Telis & Niner are greeted by a Gamorrean in a stained Tuxedo shirt at the front, who does little than look over Telis and jerk his head to the door to indicate he can go in.

Telis and Niner work their way through the front door, a set of old-fashioned double rotating airlock doors. As they step into the club, laser lights flash at the fower, serving to not only announce a new arrival, but also to keep them blinded for a moment while the clientle have a moment to size them up.

The bar is a two story affair, with the large bar taking up the middle of the public space. The sounds of cheers and dice can be heard from up above, and towards the back there appears to be a number of privacy booths. A band calling itself Red Shift Limit is on a holo-stage (beamed from somewhere else), playing a set of music you'd call a mix of techno & rock ballad.

While adjusting to the mixed lighting level, you notice you're arrival is seen by most everyone in the bar, but no one seems to be keeping an eye on you, after they recognize you in your station's mechanic uniform.

Telis moves into the bar taking his time and looking around to see if there is anyone he’s seen before, or any captains/crews who’s ships he has worked on before and might be able to help convince get him off of here quickly.

((Good angle))

You scan the crowd over, and do notice two people you recognize.

One's the First Mate of the reputed "fastest ship in the galaxy", the Millenium Falcom. He's also already three sheets to the wind, and smells like a brewery, while shotgunning more whiskey down at the bar. Such is the life of First Mate Han Solo. A large Wookie is sitting next to him, but facing outward. The eye patch and cybernetic left arm speaks of the horrors visited upon him, which the rumor mill says Solo lost his Feddy commision saving the Wookie from. Chief Engineer Chewbacca fiddles with some device, but spends most of his time eyeing the rest of the bar, and making non-commital grunts to Solo's loud drunken rants.

Further back, you also catch a glimpse of Kaine Paulsen, a renowned smuggler, and reputed Master Navigator. With navicomputers now illegal on non-exempt (i.e. military) craft, everyone has to either manually input coordinates (nigh-impossible in 9 dimensions), or buy coordinates from the BoSS (Bureau of Starship Sevices) Trade Station. Kaine's rumored to be able to reliably make the calculations manually, and even shave transit time off the BoSS routes. Kaine is a well-tanned individual, a Soroccan, from a desert planet on the Outer Rim settled by disgruntled Corellians several generations ago. There was an indigenous human population on the planet, but they've left the settlers alone, for the most part.

Feeling more of an affinity for the Wookie Felis goes over to Solo's table waiting for a minute for a break in the rants before starting to talk.

((And how many credits do I have/do I think I can scrounge up?))

So what in the world brings you two back to the bustling metropolis of Kwenn station?
