OK, I am being completely serious. I think that's one of the best opening hooks for a more traditional fantasy game that I've ever heard and I am totally stealing it. With that said, about how many people would you want to juggle in this group? There's really no built in upper limit with the job, since I simply have to expand the size of the Brothel to justify the extra bodyguards.
So, thoughts on how big a functioning Fantasy party should be, and who's interested in guarding some ladies as a starting career?

My thief has been known to frequent classier female establishments in the past, plus he loves fighting. If he could make money for his time...! |

So much for that paladin thought...
Guess I've never played a Mercenary OCC before. Maybe a soldier? |

Having not played Palladium Fantasy since the switched editions, I'd be down. |

Are you really going to run a game about protecting a brothel? |

I'm really going to run a game where that's how the game begins. |

Would characters have to be employed that way? Or could they just be... you know... around? Because if they're employed, that kind of limits class/race options. |

I'm thinking about the specifics. It's going to be a high end Brothel -- with a lot of delivery options, especially to the elite of the Western Empire. I think anyone who wants to be something truly funky as a race or class will most likely be part of the acquisition team. I think the only real limit to this game is you're going to have to be of a selfish or evil alignment. Well, plus the basic limits of it being a lower powered game in general. No Lizard Mages or Dragon Hatchlings, etc.
I think everyone will have to be part of the staff, but there's a lot more to running any commercial entity than just having bouncers. You'll need mages and psychics to help protect the location and the clients and employees. I've never had a problem with evil Paladins, so that's not an issue for me to stock. Even an archer can be employable, especially in the field teams. |

I've always wanted to play a medival Marv type character in a fantasy setting, sounds like this would be the perfect opportunity. So what ever would fit best for that, probably just a stock merc or men-at-arms. A beserker type class would be better, but I don't know if that exists in Palladium Fantasy (I haven't looked through my books in ages, but I believe that doesn't exist in PF) |

There's actually a Rifter for stuff like that...I'll check through the index and see which one it is. |

Consider me interested. But I'll need to visit my other house and go into storage to get my books. I'll be thinking about a class/race until then. Possibly a Psi-Sensitive or whatever they're called? |

Not the Mind Mage, but the one that focused almost entirely on sensitive category powers?
And that's awesome that you're interested by the way.
If you're really feeling stumped for a race (after going over your stuff), there's always a Changeling that's pretending. |

Yeah, that could work. So for the time being, unless I change my mind for some reason, Changeling Psi-Sensitive. |

Nod. Like the Robotech game, there won't be much activity from me for the next 10 days or so (I'm staff for a convention going on next weekend, so this week is a crunch for me) but once I'm back from that everything will start flaring up. Until then, everyone's just in development stage. |
