(ok, using names of players for now, as I don't have character names for everyone yet, let alone memorized)

Madame Auntie's is, truly, one of the finer brothels in the Western Empire. In fact, between the guards that most of the clients employ and the well paid city guard, the area around the brothel is secure enough that Auntie's private security staff is almost for show. Almost.

With that said, you all are some of the newer members of the staff (I don't remember anyone setting themselves up as patrons, rather than employees. Correct me if necessary). Most of you have only been with the brothel for the last six months, though some have been in the Dwarven madame's employ for years.

The building itself is a fairly massive structure. It is four stories in all, though two are underground. The main floor has a fair sized lobby for clients to be greeted. There are two immediate guards at the doorway, one of which is Cyber. There are two more floaters in the lobby itself, one of which is Cheese. Once a client has made their selection, money is exchanged at a station in the lobby, which is normally manned by Auntie herself. She is always shadowed by two personal guards of her own. None of you are those guards. No clients are allowed upstairs until money has parted.

The entrance and lobby are located in the Southwest corner of a block, all of which is owned by Auntie. The building stretches northward, after a hallway, opening up into a clean and dimly let bar. A bartender and one guard are in this area, along with a decent number of the ladies of the brothel that are often entertaining clients before heading upstairs with them. None of you are assigned to the bar. The building also stretches eastward, after another a hallway, opening up into a drug den. The women are rarely found here, but due to the stronger substances sold in this part of the brothel, there are two armed guards along with the (crap, apothecary? dealer?). As with the bar, none of you are assigned to the drug den. There is also a kitchen area, extending beyond the bar, to the East. A chef and two assistants handle the meal preparation for the staff and the clients. The ladies themselves, or ladies in training, serve the food. There are normally anywhere between twenty four and thirty six women (well, a few are male) available for the upstairs rooms.

For the public, a single set of stairs leads up to the second floor. There are also hidden staircases in the bar and drug den. The staircase opens up into a series of changing rooms for the ladies, as well as a preparatory station for the clients. Cleanliness is mandatory. As with the main floor (as with all the floors) there are hallways leading to the North and East. Each direction contains ten rooms, five on each side of the hallways. There is also a tailor, who works constantly with the ladies and their clothing. There are four guards on this level, along with several ladies in training (number changes as needed) that handle the preparing of the clients and who assist the tailor. Maverick and Nova are two of those guards.

The eastern half of the first basement level is used for storage, while the northern half of the first basement level is used for specialized clients. Steve uses one of these rooms. Nexx and Marrowdrinker are two of the four guards for this level.

The second basement level is where the money is stored. There is an accountant who handles the books, while the money itself is guarded by two dwarves, both of whom are related to Auntie. The second basement is also where the actual quarters for the entire staff are located, though they are small rooms. More often than not, a number of employees end up sleeping in the bedrooms upstairs, once they've properly been cleaned. Every week six of the ladies in training are assigned to be the cleaning staff for these rooms. Their work is tiresome and thankless.

There are several field teams, constantly moving throughout the world, looking for viable employees in the poorer parts of the world. There is also a city team, that handles all forms of scandalous work. Alejandro and Jester are part of this team.

The brothel is open six hours a night, from ten until four. There are also two hours of mandatory physical training (of various kinds of activity) for the entire staff, including the guards. Work occurs six days a week. Otherwise, your days are yours, unless you engage in a number of side activities that Auntie can supply you all with.

However, with all that said, tonight is one of the more special nights for the brothel. It is closed to the public, the services of the entire staff having been rented out by one of the lords of the Empire. However, the Lord is two hours later. This isn't the most shocking event ever, except for the fact that a runner was sent an hour ago, and has also yet to return. It is a rainy night, so even that isn't unheard of. However, ten minutes ago the screaming started. Blood curdling screams of terror coming from outside the brothel, in all directions. It is beginning to grow unnerving. In fact, the outer guards had moved back into the lobby, at Auntie's request. She wanted all of her doorways locked down tight.

And then the knocking, no, the slamming against the main doorway began!

(this is just to give everyone a chance to ease into their character voices -- plus folks did want to be thrown right into the action! For now, everyone is where they're supposed to be, with Al being out in the city. Except Nexx is locked away in his room for tonight, and Jester is subbing for him in the basement)

(as a random aside, the rest of the block is made up of: a large bathhouse that is open to the public for most of the day, but closed off for private hours for the staff of the brothel; an open area for exercise, and the rest of the block is ringed with private homes all that are owned by Auntie and that are occupied by an ever changing roster of people.)

Willis smirked when the smashing began.

"I dun spose we might'n just open the damn door so's we dun got to replace the bloody thing? Clammerin like that, it t'aint gonna stand fer long any whichway."

Willis looks at Cyber's char "Oi! ya were just out there, what in Brolin's beard is festerin?"

Admist the sounds of stiffled cries, and agonizing screams...

"I be a-telling you, Auntie, a gambling table in da bar would be a surefire money-maker for you! I can run an honest table for you (OOC: HA!!!), and you'd still be a-making money either at the table, or keeping some a-hungry John here till his girl done get finished with her current client! It'd be a sure thing for you, Auntie...<aside>and none too bad for me, anon!"

As the slamming on the main door begins in earnest, Darryn nearly jumps out of his skin...

"Lords and Ladies Almighty! It done be like all the living dead of the world done rise out of the grave tonight! It'd be one long sucker bet to be out on the streets tonight...and I do wonder if being inside be much better, either!"

<Darryn eases his heavy mace into his right hand, and pulls a couple of throwing daggers into his off-hand, as he goes into the main hallway>

Saim paces the hall upstairs, nervously sniffing the air, and gripping the handle of Longclaw.

"You talk too damned much, Darryn."

Once the slamming on the door begins, Saim growls low in his throat and goes to the nearest window to peer outside.

Jaq is in the form of an elderly looking old man, which is the guise s/he uses when serving male clients prior to serving the clients; by looking less threatening, it's much easier to do telepathic probes to determine desires.

Whilst amongst those that know what s/he is, Jaq tends to keep his/her voice androgynous regardless of shape (so s/he can be identified to some extent).

"What in Kalba's name is going on out there? How am I supposed to prepare for debauchery like this??"

Jaq realizes that there are only a few likely reasons that such pounding would occur - rage, fear or the mindless drive of a construct or the undead. S/he reaches out with Empathy to see which of these it is to get a better feel for what may be happening...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: I plan on running whatever dialogue through the speech generator using different voices because - having found I can do that - I think it's cool. You obviously don't have to click on it.

[edit] Hmmm. Don't know how long that link is good for, so I might have to try a different tack...

[edited again] Yeah, looks like I'll have to save 'em and run 'em thru elsewhere. Oh well.

So noted. Interactions are solid so far folks, just waiting to hear back on one of the pm's before I progress (no rush there, by the by, not getting impatient -- just updating the masses).

"I dunno see nuttin Willis, least not whats poundin' that door"

with that Harv walks boldly to the trembling door, lifting a powerful right fist and begins to rain down a couple blows of his own on the thick barrier.

"HEY YOU IDJUTS! WHO'S DOIN THAT RACKET BETTA KNOCK IT OFF, WE'VE GOT LADIES WORKIN!!!"

I then look around for auntie or anyone who might give me the go ahead to open the door and take on all comers.

Auntie's opinion won't matter for long -- Harv's attack on the door seems to have only encouraged the outsiders. At this rate, the entrance looks as if it will only hold for another minute or so.

The (*cough* *cough* NPC *cough* *cough*) other guards are rounding up all of the women and non combat staff and are moving them down to the secondary basement. Auntie and her bodyguards are remaining on the main floor with the lot of you, and any of you that weren't on the main floor are being called to the main floor.

Saim heads down to the main floor to take his place in front of the door. He draws Longclaw from it's sheath, and swings the sword several times in a dazzling display of skill.

Willis palms his face with his hand.

"Yer a genius there Harv. Just tell'em what'n we got in 'ere."

With that said, he walks over toward the door a ways. Willis rolled up his sleeves a bit and began rubbing his hands together

"Nuttin like a wee bit o'fire to liven up their chaos!"

He waves his hands out and his fingertips and eyes seemingly catch fire.

"T'aint none o'dem gettin through... not without the magic word."

((OOC: I am assuming, even with the door closed... if ive been working here 6 months, I can judge distance enough to put a Pyrokinesis: wall of flame outside enough to be infront of the door not consuming it in the flames. Enough to either catch them in the flames or at least scare em off. ISP: 175/195))

ok, more awake than I thought.

The flame goes up, you can feel it in your mind and anyone near the door can feel the increase in heat. However, this rain is brutal, and you can feel the flame dying as quickly as you're creating it. Judging by the continued assault upon the door, the water's also putting out whatever flames were getting on the attackers.

(good idea, however, truly)

Harv stretches to his full height, his bones cracking as he tenses and flexes, while adjusting his black longcoat. With a sudden jerk of his head sideways, an audible pop resounds in the entrance hall over the pounding of the door.

"Whatsamatta, fraid to get yo hands dirty?"

clenching his fists, Harv's knuckles pop like dry kindling on a fire and a dangerous gleam enters his eyes.

Willis' eyes flare down and his fingers extinguish... he reels back a bit as the glow seen through the cracks gets dimmer and finally ceases.

"One o'dem days... Mother Nature is gun be told teh get back to the stove n' she's gonna listen..."

Willis moves for cover behind one of the seating areas in the lobby area... just waiting for whatever is coming through to come through.

And, it comes on through!

25 xp for those who, publicly or through PM's guessed Zombies, because that's what we've got!

These guys are fresh though. In fact, you'd guess none of them have been dead for more than four hours. It's only the walking pattern and zombie strength that gives them away. Well, and the moaning. Oh that incessant Zombie moaning.

A good twenty seem to be pushing their way in, but in the immediateness of now, only Harv and our Wolfen Gladiator need worry. There are two breaking off from the mass towards each of them (so four total). However, since the four are unarmed, the both of you get initial actions.

Everyone, please let me know what you're doing, but also please sketch out a good full melee round of intended actions. I'll take your desires, the dice rolls, and build out the entire scene from there.

"Filthy undead! We need to leave this place as I can sense that there are more where these came from!"

With that, Jaq thinks back to where the "panic way out" is... Surely there's a tunnel or something built into one of the basements that dumps out either outside the city or at least away from the building.

El, his ever-present harlot (i.e. his succubus familiar) only a few feet behind him stands at the top of the stairs and gestures impatiently at the undead. "Stay." (Energy field around the entryway to keep the undead contained).
