It is the year 109 PA. Tolkeen is a sad wreck, the Republicans have arisen in the East, and the Minion War has yet to set Earth ablaze.
The city of Lazlo has fallen into a deep melancholy as survivors from Tolkeen have flooded the streets of the once glittering paradise of learning.
Meanwhile the continent of Atlantis has continued to thrive at the expense of the lesser nations around the world. The slave pens are full, and the powers that be are growing fat, and lazy.
Both lands are in need of a change. Lazlo needs hope while Splynn needs a challenge.
The Red Ley Lines and their peculiar Rifts have the potential to be both for the two powerful forces. These Rifts, which have been randomly appearing for the last two months, lead not to strange alien landscapes, but to the all too familiar forests of Earth. But it is a different Earth. Only a handful of people that have ventured through the Rifts have ever returned, and their raving claims have been distorted and enhanced in a thousand retellings.
A few absolute truths are known to be true by the leaders of Lazlo and Splynn, however.
The landscape is different. The mountains are taller, the coastline is farther from the mountains, and there are more signs of civilization. There are more people, millions more. It is a thriving world, but it is still a world plagued with demons and monsters.
It is true that over ninety percent of those who have entered the Red Rifts have never returned. However, these were but curious souls, or desperate men running from a more powerful opponent. The first of the organized and prepared forces are being dispatched now, and the lot of you have been selected to join them.
The mission is simple. Learn as much as can be learned of this strange, new world while surrendering as little information as possible about your own Earth.
For those working for Lazlo, if forces of Good, servants of Light, and nations dedicated to the principles of knowledge and reason are discovered, they are to be approached by you in the hope of reaching an accord with Lazlo.
For those working for Splynn, if great powers are discovered, they are to be tested. If they prove strong, dangerous, then you are to spread chaos within their lands.
You have all been given an amulet that is, in theory, able to recall you to Rifts Earth. It has been tested, but there is no guarantee that the ability will work as you spend more time in this new reality.
The plan is to travel in small groups, so as to attract as little direct attention as possible. For those wishing to travel together, no more than three are to move as one. For those who do not with to travel with your fellow Champions ((PC’s)), suitable companions will be arranged for you.
As no Red Rifts have been seen anywhere outside of North America, those working for Splynn shall be reaching this new world via the Virginia area. A number of locations are constantly producing Red Rifts, and these shall be your entrance point.
For those working for Lazlo, A Red Rift is appearing every fifth day a dozen miles south of New Lazlo. This shall be your entrance point.
Explorers for both sides are to attempt to use their amulet after the passing of two years. Anyone who has not returned by then will be assumed lost in battle.
Good luck. You’ll need it.
((Use this thread to inform me if you want to work with other Champions, or if you prefer to bring a companion or two with you)). |

Any PC suitable to travel with a Demon Slayer is welcomed to join. Otherwise I'll need companions arranged.
Chatterboxes need not apply. |

Who wants to go with a tattooed warrior? I'm no great shakes at cooking anything beyond freshly killed game, but I can drive, and I'm a good survivalist. |

I like'em better than the sploogs, that's why I split when I got the chance.
I give respect to who deserves it, and I expect the same... them splugorths and most of their minions and allies, they just respect nobody who's not going to do them in at the slightest displeasure, and they have no honor.
Not my keg of brew. |

I chose freedom and life with people who'd not try to enslave me back (though the CS did often try to kill me outright).
If you've a problem with that, I don't see why. |

I'm playing a no-nonsense, no-drama Mystic Knight. He's not outright dag nasty evil, but he is a mercenary and doesn't take shit he doesn't have to. He's all about getting the job done with the minimum of interruptions. |

Who said I was good? I just figure I can get better support from Lazlo and then sell the information to Splynn. |
