The loudspeaker doesn't respond, but instead there's the distinctive roar of a modified SAMAS that appears from behind the walls. It bears none of the markings or colors of a Coalition model, but none of you are certain exactly what kind of SAMAS it is, done in a tan and brown camouflage pattern.

It does not strafe or even attack, it simply lands on the outside edge of the wall. It walks up to you both in a non-threatening manner (or as non-threatening as a SAMAS can appear). "So, you're from a Rift?"

Vladimir produces his sketch of the area, writes in Russian "rehab center" at their current location. Another community is marked, presumably the stalkers', and the ley lines. He holds the map out and asks in English, "we could use some more detail."

as agitated as i am at this apparent slave camp, i'll be keeping an eye on Mr. Samas while Vlad makes his call. if he makes a move to stop the call, he will be losing whatever implement he puts out in the open, be it a gun barrel or a hand.
