Ah-ha, need to answer this for Prettz too. There are a number of constellations that look similar, even identical, to those on Earth. But there are a number of other stars in the sky as well. Curious, that.

From what I can see can I at least make a rough guess or to much clutter with the extra/different stars?

You're fairly certain you're on North America, but you've not had enough time on this particular world to feel confident much beyond that. Judging by the agriculture, unless this world is wildly different in soil, you'd imagine you're in the midwest or plains regions.

Well good enough for now... and time to wait and see what the robot dogs and Andrew do.

Looking at the dogs and seeing the markings Andrew smiles

"Well, that certainly appears to make our task a bit easier. They're just robots. Or at the very most some form of cybernetic animal."

That does not stop him from heeding his wizard companion's advice and he is careful to stop and take a couple steps back.

The lead dog stands still, while the secondary pooch turns and heads back over towards a well worn down bit of Earth, before it comes to rest.

But wait, what's that? Ah yeah. The bastard primary dog's eye's just flashed for a second. He took your picture, you're fairly certain.

Andrew takes a step forward and calls out in a non-threatening tone

"Excuse me! Is anyone home?? We're a couple of hands looking for work!"

After your second shout for attention, a middle aged man that's seen enough years on a farm to be built like a truck, but has also seen enough winters huddled in front of a fire with well salted and dried meat to be carrying a healthy gut, comes out of the farm house at a slightly rushed pace. Though he appears garbed in work clothes, and not armor, he's got a wicked looking plasma shotgun. It isn't raised at you, but it wouldn't take much for it to get there. Aside from the color and some minor stylistic shifts, the thing looks right out of a Northern Gun Spring catalog.

"Y'all lost or sumtin, boy?"

His aura shows a healthy man reaching the end of middle age, that is free of outside influences, that is untouched by either psionics or magical ability.

'Cheating' I look around to see if I can see the aura of anyone invisible around the farm, or if there are any odd auras within my range.

No invisible auras, though you do detect a number of younger auras that are either blessed with magic or psionics.

"But they're standard issue." The farmer takes a step back, almost raising the shotgun. "Now lis'n here. I run a clean farm. Coalition s'port n all. Don't need no black market shopper bringin' trouble down on me. There's a Tower a couple miles down the road. Best y'all synch up there, n leave me be."

"F'low the dirt track," he points over about twenty yards, "And take a right when it ends. Can't miss it."

((I was waiting for the Jew to add something! I try not to railroad fellow players without giving them a chance to do or say something. Ungrateful bastiches....))

Andrew motions to Fext and the hovercraft, indicating it's time to go

"Down the dirt, swing right, hit the tower. Gotcha. Well, we'll be off then as you seem a bit...nervous. Still I must say those are some impressive watch-bots you have. Coalition sentry dogs with uplink capability?"

<nods to Andrew and starts moving to the hovercraft, waiting until he and Andrew are inside it before asking>

So did I misunderstand him, but he's farming FOR the Coalition?

"A nexus, huh? Well it's for the best that we move on then anyway. Too risky to work around here."

Andrew nods matter-of-factly to Fext and walks to the vehicle, speaking softly to Fext on the walk

"Seems like all we did was just hop through a rift into the heart of Coalition territory. This does not bode well for our situation."

"Well I'm not sure if we are... or if it's the same Coalition that we know, I saw several immature auras of considerable magical or psionic power. We might want to investigate the tower from a distance."

(Yo Al, My character would have been rather forward with is magical abilities, though maybe not told you of all the items he's got stored with him, but what do I know about your abilities?)
