For these initial few posts, I want you to build your own scene. You are awaking inside your home, or wherever you crashed the night before. For the Nightspawn in the game, you'll be awaking to a transformers body. The same goes for the Werebeasts, though I leave you the option of waking up in full on animal mode, or in Were mode.
Keep in mind, except for a couple of you, I've never even been to your state, let alone your city or home. So for these early posts, you're going to have to put in a lot of descriptors for me.
And...go! |

"Well, hell. I haven't done that since I was thirteen." I pack myself back into human form, gingerly removing my foot from wall at the end of my bed, and shower to get ready for work. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

((FYI, I'm planning on going with the Dark Conversions version of werebear. It's nicely adaptable to an SDC environment, since claw damage is listed as a bonus to SN strength.))
I hit the road for work, turning on the radio as I go. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

((KK, sings the battle cry of my books, my books, they are a hostage...but I'll look it over in the afternoon tomorrow, just so I've got that version right in my mind))

You're about halfway to work when you notice that your left leg feels a lil funny. Before you have time to really process what's funny about it though, your right arm is gripped with the tingling sensation of....growth? Hair growth??
Parts of your body are starting to lose their human shape, to shift without your permission. |

I pull over to the side of the road near the levee and concentrate on keeping my shape. To be on the safe side, I get out of my car and look into the swamp... do not want to trash my car.
Deep breaths. Concentrate on feeling human. Picture the leg shape as human. Chant "Metamorphosis: Human" to myself to contain the shape change. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

It was touch and go for a bit, but after a couple minutes you feel fully human.
Except you've definitely got an increasing desire for some raw meat. |

Fuck it, then. I've been through this shit before. There's an HEB (grocery store) on the way; I'll stop and drop a bit on meat. Maybe some salmon... mmmmm, salmon...
Besides, I can eat raw salmon at work without too much issue. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

The salmon is purchased without incident. On your way through checkout, you notice that the gossip rags are making a surprising amount of fuss over the anniversary of Dark Day. There's not been this much talking about it since the fifth anniversary. Seems a lot of "experts" are predicting a major shift for next year's tenth anniversary -- and if not then, then certainly by 2012. |

I again contemplate selling a story called "I was a teenage werebear" to the tabloids, and, again, decide against it. I haven't heard anything from a reputable psychic regarding the coming anniversary, have I?
And I need to hurry to work. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

You arrive at work, only a few minutes late, which is good considering the delays you've had today. The cycle of monotony sets in almost as soon as you arrive, though today the library seems rather dead. Within your first hour you've had three people enter the building. None of them were even remotely pleasing on the eyes, either. Though the one girl smelled nice. Really nice. Damnit, senses are going a little nutty on you still. |

Nice as in "tasty" or tasty?
Hell, if we're that quiet, I'm gonna spend my time googling Dark Day and stuff about it. And trying to figure out what people ate by how they smell. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

She smells like lavender and coconut. Not like food.
As you start googling things, (making an assumption here, correct me if otherwise) what you find is that half of the sites are blocked by websense, and the other half aren't proving to be particularly shocking. Unexplained natural phenomenon, etc, etc. |

(You'd be amazed at how little gets blocked in the library... however, we haven't actually had preverts in office, so I can roll with it)
Well, fuck it, then. www.textsfromlastnight.com once my message boards run dry. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

((Addictive, isn't it?))
You are seeing a lot of texts about how people are waking up and feeling really strange. Oddly enough, half the time you click on them to see responses, the link has been deleted.
One of your coworkers walks on by you, and hands you a book. "Someone dropped this off for you earlier." It's a collection of fables, with a blank business card inserted into it at the beginning of Goldilocks and the three bears. |

The old version where Goldilocks gets eaten?

No, the newer version where all is well.
And she gives you that flat look you've come to know so well, along with a barely intelligible mumble of how it isn't her job to keep track of your miscreant friends. God, it's like the woman's a zombie. |

Yeah, let the day pass; maybe try to get a scent off the book if I get a chance during the day, but not much else. _________________ Dr. Otto Octavius: I will not die a monster. |

One thing you're discovering, as you go through your day, is that about a quarter of the websites you normally frequent are down. The internet is having an odd day. |
