Alex nods in agreement. "We'll take images for our records and note the location on the map. Then, we'll start working our way down and continue searching for signs of civilization." (Lore: Demons & Monsters skill check to possibly determine the species.) |
Though eggs and nests can always be unreliable when dealing with magical creatures, you'd guess it to have the body length of a bus, and Heaven only knows what kind of wing span you're dealing with.
This doesn't remind you of any creature you've ever studied, however.
Luck favors you both, as you're able to accomplish your work without sign of mama returning.
On your way down, will you break for food, or continue pressing on? |

No sense in getting comfortable just yet. The pair press on. |

((Assuming you continue on the southward path, once you get back to where you started))
After about ten minutes of continuing on the southward path, you've both come across some remains that appear to have once been human. A few minutes of checking will let you guess at there at least being five bodies here, going off the skull count. |

Disconcerting, to say the least. After gauging how old the remains are, the pair will continue on, perhaps a bit more wary of their surroundings. |

Hazarding a pair of guesses on the climate and presence of predators, you'd figure these aren't much more than a couple of weeks old, if that old.
As you press onward, you are beginning to notice intricate symbols at seemingly random locations in the terrain. Though you're uncertain of the origin, the size of the symbols indicate they were created by a species significantly larger than human, or at least one with significantly larger hands. |

As they go along, they take pictures and look to see if there are any repeating patterns to the symbols. |

Before you've had time to key in on a pattern, a fresh pair of tracks presents itself. And off in the distance, in the direction the tracks are heading, a silver shine is reflecting. |

The vehicles come to a stop as Alex peers ahead and gets a feel for the local magic environment. Jacob pulls up his LRD-10 "spotter scope" and attempts to get a bead on the 'contact'. If so, he will record the image and run it against the built-in target identifier. |

It is a modified SAMAS suit of power armor, though with a Silver coat that makes you both immediately think Glitter armor.
The environment feels strong, not nexus strong, but the ambient energy in the area feels like you're walking within a hundred yards of a ley line. |

The pair wait for a moment to see if the 'contact' does anything. |

He seems to be standing over a woman that's sprawled on the rocky surface. |

Peering through the scope, Jacob checks for any obvious vital signs or injuries on the woman. Alex surveys the terrain for suitable defensive positions. |
