well I was going to wait until Marrow gave me a new spiffy forum, but he be hella busy with work/school/dragon con, so it'll probably be till after the con till that is up, but null persp. If you've got the 4ed book, you can get started.
350 bp, all characters need to have a magical background (adept, mage, shaman, whatnot), but a magic rating no higher than 3 (oh and I suggest building adepts off a theme[bonus points if you follow a Adept tradition from Earthdawn ], standard metahumanity only, you can have one skill at 5 or two at 4, no skill group higher than 3, low grade equipment, no guns even, unless its integral to concept, (for instance of the 8 or so characters I have built for this game, only two have pistols and only one of those could actually be considered a firearm ), spend most of your resources on a drek-hot ride.
soon as the new forum is up, I'll post the characters to give an example of what I'm looking for, but feel free to tinker until then. _________________ So's Your Face! |

ugh....magic?
Do we absolutely have to have a magical background? I ask because I have an incredibly huge problem trying to play a race that isn't human, let alone one that can ever use magic. |

Well, I have been called a monster more times than I have fingers...which pretty much ends my capability of counting. |

humans have no problem with magic in Shadowrun. You don't even need to be flashy-fireball tossing magic, that's were Adepts excel, think of them like a prodigy, someone who is so good at something it seems magical, just in shadowrun, it is.
but yes, to answer Mr. Hall, multi-racial awakened gangers, but so low powered to just be able to be called so.
of course, if people have a problem with it, I can drop the mystical side of the game rather easy, and you can just play chromed fleshbags, either way is good for me. _________________ So's Your Face! |

I'm finding it highly addictive too.
I have friends willing to let me play WoW for free, and yet I'm still finding myself playing DDO more often than not. |

I had the first edition game book for a while but I never played it.
It's kind of a William Gibson-esque game, right? |

yeah pretty much, bleak dystopian future ruled by the souless corps in their gleaming towers of glass and steel, as the huddled masses fight amongst themselves for the scraps. Magic is real and danger in everyday life, though mans ability to improve himself via cyberware has grown to astonishing levels. Computers, very litterally in some cases, rule the world and everything is connectted to a vast interconnected system called the Matrix.
Shadowrun is predominately set in Seattle and I see no reason to change that, 2070 is the date, bleak is the future, and bleaker still for those who call the sprawl home, especially the Barrens (Pullyap and Redmond) like the characters you will be playing. _________________ So's Your Face! |
