OK, and to be very, very fair I burned out on Star Wars right around when the novels were really taking off. Tales from Jabba's Palace and books like that were some of the last I saw.
If I get something wrong, just let me know, and I'll amend. A friend of mine is a fairly serious Star Wars nut, so I'll be using him as my support system once this all gets going.
However, for a quick and dirty...
Phantom Menace Change 1: Kenobi fell further down the Random Hole in the Earth in the battle with Darth Maul, and as such Maul opted to rabbit rather than make sparklers with his light saber.
To date he remains at large. A minor change, but I wanted to put it out there, because I liked Maul and wish to use him in this game.
Clone Wars Change 1: It's been long enough that I forget the exact roots of the Mandalorian armor and those who wear it, but expect some shifts to make this closer to the continuity that had been built by Dark Horse and others long before it got mucked with in the Prequels.
Clone Wars Change 2: The clones will be getting generated on more than one world, and they can be grown much, much faster.
And now for the big change, that sets the shift in tone for this game.
Revenge of the Sith Change: Yoda, while on Kashyyyk, was able to break through the clouding of the future that had been plaguing the Jedi of late. This came in enough time for him to alert his fellow Jedi of the dangers of the clone troopers they fought with. All Jedi were ordered to simply leave their clones and the battle they were engaged in behind and to make for rendezvous points across the galaxy.
Meanwhile, Yoda returned to Coruscant and led the attack on Sidious, as opposed to Mace Windu leading it. This led to Sidious's death at the hands of the Jedi.
However, quick thinking on the part of Sidious's minions and and contingency plans set in place in case of his death have resulted in the Jedi being branded as traitors to the Republic, with every member of the order a wanted fugitive that is to be turned over to the military. Though the Jedi still live, it has become unsafe for them to remain near civilized systems.
And of course, there's still a war going on to boot.
This is the setting in which our game will begin.
More to follow as I start lining players up. |
