Theron begin's to wonder if his eyebrows will fly off before the day is over, given how much he keeps arching them in surprise.

Theron's blood turns icy cold, at such casual talk of murder.

"Farley", began Theron, "I'm a stranger at this court, so perhaps I misunderstand your intent..."

Theron steps to the center of the room, avoiding any hazards such as the bed or desk, in case blades were about to be drawn.

"Why, pray tell, would you need to call for an assassination squad, to "entice me to stay at Amber"? What is going on, that my leaving would require such deadly consequences?"

"It seemed you were perhaps growing bored. A bit of excitement to get the blood rushing, as it were. So you could really show off those vaunted powers of yours." There was no real emotion in his voice as he said this. Perhaps he really is a spirit, only imitating human emotions at times.

Theron opens himself up to the flow of the Weave, seeking to learn the greater mysteries of the being in front of him. He normally did not intrude so wantonly on unsuspecting targets, but this creature had just threatened his life, innocently or no.

It was taking great restraint, not to weave threads of Air around Farley's body to hold him immobile, and stab a weave of Spirit into his mind, to hold Farley's own magic at bay, while probing his agonized form with all five Elements in full, to divine this "Specter's" nature...

But that would not do for two reasons: first, his comment might have been entirely innocent. Many creatures did not grasp human mores & values. Secondly, it would be rude to dispose of the host's domestics, no matter the insult.
