When it is in a Nightspawn game. Characters classes in Nightspawn range from the Nightspawn themselves (who are divided amongst several factions) to characters who exist almost exclusively within the Astral Plane or the Dreamstream to traditional men of magic and psychics hidden within their own societies to children of light and vampiric children of darkness. Then there are soldiers, spooks, and Werebeasts and the Mafia from the Rifters plus a number of other classes.
In short, unless everyone in a party wants to play the same thing, I always find it best to let everyone start up as individuals and work towards unifying the party, rather than force everyone together from the word go as if this was an Ocean's movie.
So, for those interested in a Nightspawn game, use this thread to start talking about things you might want to play. I'll get a class list up in the near future.

since my only experience was at the hands of a uber-railroady GM and I only got to play my morphus for like 45 minutes at that. I think I'll just go good ole Nightspawn and see what craziness the random tables can produce. |

They can be pretty crazy. If there's any tables from the Rifters that you're fond of, just let me know. |

I had a pretty crazy metal skeleton Raptor thing going last time from just the main book and I think the Companion, so unless there is one that just screams coolness, I'm good with what I can pull from the books I own. |

I'm not 100% decided yet, but at least one year, probably more. |

Since we are basically playing ourselves (I'm sprucing me up a little), do you want us to just make up stats near average that reflect us?
Also, I have to warn you that one of my biggest beefs with the Palladium system is the absurd amount of variation in character design. When I make a character and it says "SDC: 1D6x100", I'm going to either go for 500 or 600. I don't make characters so that they can be losers. That said, power is not my aim when playing. I just like to fulfill the potential of whatever I'm playing without trying trying to be invincible. And when I'm making a Nightbane, I'm not going to settle for only having one morphus trait. I go all out because I like being a real monster.
In other words, I tend to not actually real rolling when I make my Palladium characters. I fit stats to a concept. |

Since the vision behind this particular campaign is to be a Nightbane (or psychic, or werebeast, or w/e) that reflects your inner self, and since you all are playing yourselves, I'm perfectly fine with you customizing your morphus to fit your story needs. So go nuts with that part. If that means having maxed SDC, I certainly won't pitch a fit over that.
As for the stats, certainly don't feel the need to make them average. Al (who isn't playing I know) is an ex-marine, and while I'm sure he's got a bit of gamer fat on him I'd expect his PE and PS to be above average. I'd also expect his ME to be above average.
For me, I'd have above average MA, PS, PE, and near bonus dice IQ, but I'd have below average Speed, PP and ME -- I'm no fictional "how can someone so big move that fast" strongman like Colossus, and my mind hops around way too much for me to claim I've got Iron Will.. |

This is some kind of self image test? I hate stating "me" in a game.
Someone else do it for me. You guys know me enough to come up with most of the stats, right? I trust you.
I'm 6'0'' 175. I played college football on scholarship, but more beacuse of my speed and skill than my size (obviously). I'm flakey and lack mental discipline, but have a fairly quick whit. GO!

It's just for your facade. So unless you plan on joining a Fight Club, odds are it won't matter much as the rest of the time you'll just Bane up. |

Hate Fight Club, hate, hate, hate it. Worked with a guy who literally, for a year, went home every night and watched it, and talked about it and how he was going to watch it every day at work. Hate it so much because of him. So I prolly won't get jokes from or about it. |

He was a CSR at Gateway...it would've been one of the worst ideas of his life. Getting married and getting his wife pregnant while being a CSR at Gateway being #1 on that list. |
