Though I know what most of you are playing already, go ahead and use this thread to post the Class (and when appropriate, the MOS) you'll be playing.
Also, whether you come with the skill naturally or you'll be having to burn OCC Related skills to get them, go ahead and post what your primary Mecha is going to be, and also for the Veritech pilots, let me know if you'll be using a skill to learn combat with a particular Cyclone (and let me know what Cyclone that is). Even if you're not taking Cyclone combat (Al), let me know what style of Cyclone you'll be keeping on board anyway.
Note - Cyber wants to play a Destroid, and I have a way of making that work. If anyone else would like to opt for a Destroid over a Veritech, feel free to let me know (I've been forcing Veritechs on folks, but since someone wants to go Destroid anyway, I figured I'd reopen it to all). Also, if you'd like to use a Southern Cross Mecha, such as the Hovertank or the AJAC, let me know.
If you want to use a Logan, get out of my game. |

sorry, I didn't know about the Veritech thing, I'll re-evaluate and see what I can come up with. |

Definitely feel free to stick with the Destroid if you want, Cyber. I don't mind. |

well I don't want to be in the back yelling;
"Hey guys, come on, wait for me!"
as everyone else zooms off in their veritechs, ala Christmas Story
like I said though, I just skimmed through the book on my first read through, so I'll give it a better once over and come back with something more concrete. |

KK. In that case, none of the rest of you can be Destroid pilots either. |

I didn't say I wasn't going to be a destroid pilot, just that I'd have to go back over it all. |

Dammit....I MIGHT pick a Destroid if the Macross II mechs open up.
The Tomahawk II was a wickedly awesome mech. Plus, it can rollerblade for that "OHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!" point in time.
Currently I'm sticking with the VF/A-6H "Blue" Alpha.
For class, I'm going Technical Officer: Command MOS. |

It is indeed very sexy. Don't forget the Valkyries, however, if I do open it up. |

I could never forget my VF-2SS and it's various SAP attachments. I still have a huge mancrush on the 2SS series as hands down the coolest Valkyries ever made for the Macross series....even if they aren't technically part of the Macross continuum. |

I personally love the look of the Metal Siren without all the excess armor -- but yes, the series as a whole is awesome. |

Destroid Pilot is the Sentinels and first edition Robotech version of the Shadow Chronicles Battloid Ace.
While there might be some skill variations (I can check later) they're basically the same thing. |

I am going for either Medical Officer or Communications Officer.
I'm open to suggestions on which one will be more useful. |

On one hand, we have no medic.
On the other, a Comms officer would free up a few skills for me...
So for the good of the group I'd say medic, but the selfish part of me says go Comms. |

on a mechanical side, how viable is a medic in the game? Really this falls to Marrow and how he runs the system. I've played in games where there is nothing left to medic after an encounter and you never encountered SDC damage. In such a game healing abilities are worth nil.
for my money (and trusting Marrow) I'd go Medical Officer, as that was one of my original choices until I decided that sexy mecha violencing the hell out of stuff is neater. |

In terms of saving your own lives from MDC blasts, a medic will be pretty useless. In terms of saving people's lives from crashed ships, or local diseases and poisons or brawls when you're out of mecha, a medic is pretty essential. In terms of saving the lives of NPCs who will assist you all in the course of the game, a medic is a godly character. It all depends on where you all go with the options I put before you.
A Comm officer certainly also has his uses (especially once you start breaking into facilities and enemy spacecraft), however. |

Well, I'm going Spec Forces with a specialty in cyclone combat. I think Marrow wanted us to all take veritech fighter pilot skills, and that would pretty much eat up my relateds. So my versitility is going to be pretty limited.
I also have one exceptional stat to play with and I'm thinking of putting it in a stat that's less than typical for my MOS. |

I'll have to look at the book to be 100% certain, Jezz, but I think you'd only lose one related skill. I'm pretty sure you come with Pilot: Veritech and Mecha Combat one veritech of choice as a military specialist. You'd just need to burn one skill to be able to fight in a cyclone and in a veritech (unless you wanted to be able to fight in every style of cyclone). |

We do have someone playing an Engineer already right?
Seems like it would be more important to fix the machines than the eat bags inside them. |

Nexx was considering it, not sure if he's changed his mind. |

I thought Danny was going for Combat Engineer?
As for me I'm going Battloid Ace with either my MOS being Sapper (my first choice) or Combat Specialist (my stats make more sense for this MOS) |

I'll poke Danny about joining the party Monday if he hasn't started showing up (He tends to have a real life on weekends) |

as for primary Mech, I only have the Shadow Chronicles book, so between Bioroid and Condor, I'll pick Bioroid.
Unless someone has a better suggestion out of an alternate book that I do not possess. |
